Niketa Jhaveri is a Chicago based UX and AI leader, international speaker, and founder of Nivan. She is Sr. Manager, User Experience at Amazon, where she leads research for AI powered products.

Imagine if you could travel through time. You could meet people who invented writing, the printing press, electricity, or even the internet. Every one of those moments must have felt so uncertain, and every generation wondered whether the next great invention would change what it meant to be human.
Believe it or not, we are standing in one of those moments. Everyone is asking about what AI will become, but the most important question is: what will humanity carry forward? AI can do a lot of things. It can generate workflow, generate knowledge, and create content, but it cannot inherit wisdom, because wisdom is passed on from one generation to the next through our values, our experiences, our judgment, and our choices.
My idea is simple: the more AI knows, the more humans matter. Every breakthrough in the history of time has always expanded human capability. It has never needed to replace wisdom. If we could travel through time, the next generation is not going to judge us on how intelligent our AI is. It will judge us if we used it to become wiser, more compassionate, and more human.
